The Winter Seasonal Coffee Brazil Santa Blandina brings the rhythms of samba to the winter. The coffee is directly sourced from the farmer-owned cooperative Coopervass and arrived in Finland just before Christmas 2024.

Information about the farm and farmers

In 2018, Jaciel Ribeiro Mendes and his family changed the course of their lives when they decided to grow coffee at Fazenda Santa Blandina, located in the Mantiqueira region of Minas Gerais. Although the Mendes family had a long agricultural tradition, they had never grown coffee before. Inspired by Mantiqueira’s reputation as one of the best regions for specialty coffees, Jaciel decided to invest in growing the Arara and Catuaí Amarelo varieties. The close-knit and dedicated family faced challenges such as pests and climate change, but persisted with enthusiasm. Jaciel took care of the technical side, Maria managed the logistics and the children helped in the fields, learning the value of hard work. Over time, the plantations began to stand out for their quality, and the beans produced achieved high scores in regional competitions, being praised for their fruity notes and bright acidity.

Flavour profile:

Peachy, with a hint of chamomile tea and honey like sweetness. Medium-bodied mouthfeel. Lingering sweet aftertaste.
