Quality
For us, quality means both the quality of our coffee and the quality of our operations. You have every right to expect excellent service from us.

Authenticity
We want – and are free – to be ourselves while respecting others. We do not engage in greenwashing, nor do we want to market our products with misleading images.

Smart Thinking
We do things in a sensible way and look for solutions to our customers’ problems.

Giving Back
We want to play our part in making the coffee value chain better for everyone – from producers to roasters to consumers. We also want to contribute value to Finland and the Finnish people.

Direct Trade
In our view, buying coffee directly from producers or from cooperatives and companies owned by them is a significant part of responsibility. Purchasing directly without unnecessary middlemen enables both better prices for producers and fair prices for consumers.

We began direct purchases in 2018 and strive to increase their share continuously.

There is also a need for intermediaries in the value chain. For example, it is difficult to buy smaller volumes directly due to logistical challenges. Coffee traders do important work by consolidating lots, ensuring quality, and building trust between actors.

Certifications
Helsingin Kahvipaahtimo received Rainforest Alliance certification in March 2025. Next, we will certify our products according to the availability of high-quality certified raw material in Finland.

Certifications are an important part of ensuring responsibility in coffee. Certification alone will not save the world, but it is a step in the right direction.

Organic
Our roastery has a license to produce organic coffee. We are happy to create a tailored organic product for our customers, for example for a restaurant or office.
